A new campus for the Hebrew 
University and the National and 
University Library was con-
structed at Givat Ram to replace 
the then inaccessible Mount 
Scopus campus.  The new 
Hadassah Hospital at Ein Karem 
was likewise constructed to re-
place the building located in the 
Mount Scopus enclave.
